Consumer Insights to Help Customers Succeed
Our product development team works closely with bakeries to develop and test products, in order to tailor-make products that meet customers’ specific requirements. Our consumer insights team analyse and interpret data to help customers make informed decisions as products are being developed. This research enables us to help understand what consumers need, and crucially, why they feel this way.
Food Safety
We’re committed to the highest food quality and safety standards and in 2021 achieved the Food Safety Standard Certification (FSSC) 22000. The standard ensures that its range of products, that include leading brands Mama Gold Flour, Crown Premium Pasta and Supreme Semolina, comply with the stringent requirements of the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and those of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Innovative Flour Fortification
Supporting Nigerian Households
In Nigeria, where 60% of people live below the poverty line, malnutrition is a major concern. To help alleviate the issue, we're fortifying wheat flour with essential vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin B, folic acid and zinc. Wheat flour derivative foods such as semolina, bread, noodles and pasta are staples in Nigerian households and an estimated 75 million food portions are consumed daily.
New Fortification Facilities
We have invested in a facility in Nigeria that prepares vitamin premix to the highest standards and in accordance with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON). This gives us control over the quality of premix which in turn means having a consistent high quality fortified flour. The facility will be the first of its kind in Nigeria and is collaborating with non-profit organisation TechnoServe to develop more nutritious vitamin-fortified wheat flour and derivative food staples to help Nigerians live a healthier life.
